Sandra Murray OBE, Designer, Couturier and Artisan

Sandra Murray grew up in the most Northerly point of the Hebrides on the Isle of Lewis. Attending the Glasgow School of Art in the 1970’s, she was influenced by fearless designers such as Zandra Rhodes and Jean Muir. One of many peaks was reached in 1999, when Sandra was comissioned to dress the Queen for the opening of the Scottish Parliament. Sandra believes the creation of hand made, beautifully tailored, one-off clothes brought her to couture, the artisan skills and unerring eye of the former underpinning the artistic aesthetic of the latter.

Erica Moore, Founder and MD of Eteaket Tea

Erica opened eteaket Tea Room and online store in December 2008. Sine then, eteaket has continued to grow and win many awards including Best Tea in the UK from the Beverage Standards Association. Eteaket tea can now be found in many Michelin starred restaurants, high-end shops, five star hotels and outstanding cafes across the UK, Japan, Hong Kong and Europe. Their first retail shop opened on Rose Street in Edinburgh in 2016, a concept they are planning on growing. It’s a little change from Erica’s previous career as a litigation lawyer at a leading London law firm but she’s privileged to be working on her true passion and excited about the growth of the industry.

Mary Contini, Writer and Italian Food Ambassador

Mary Contini grew up with her seven brothers and sisters in a house on top of her father’s ice cream and fish and chip shop just outside Edinburgh. Mary has been a director of the famous Italian delicatessen Valvona & Crolla since 1983, and she has written a number of best selling books on the subject of food. In 2011 Mary was awarded the title ‘Cavaliere’ by the Republic of Italy (the equivalent to a British OBE) for her services to the promotion of Italian food and history of Italians. In 2015, she received a Life Time Achievement Award by the Scottish Italian Awards for her valuable contribution to Scottish cuisine.
